  Went to the island for our honeymoon. Stopped by this restaurant for a quick lunch, not knowing it would be one of the best meals of our trip! We sat right on the water, drank good wine, ate delicious bread and an entire fish! The staff was so, so friendly and welcoming. Attentive but not pushy. The special fish that day was an entire fish served with potatoes and it was so delicious! We were talking about it when we returned home. Fresh food, friendly staff, the most beautiful atmosphere. Couldn't ask for more.

  Made to feel like something the waiter had found on the sole of his shoe as we had dared to arrive on cycles and lean them safely against his tree in sight as we came in search for the advertised coffee and cake. Literally the only customers there this morning.

  El Golfo used to be tiny and genuine and unspoiled. Not so now as each year new restaurants appear. Had a bad experience here. We liked the menu choice on display outside so took a table. Then as we tried to order our food each time the manager shook his head. No sole today. No fried fish fillets today. But we do have ....... this large platter of (expensive) individual fishes. It's all a trick to get you in and serve higher price dishes - and taxes are extra. We said in that case we won't eat but finish our drinks and go. Very noticeable that the only food being served to diners was the fish platter. So beware as you'll be paying a lot more than you bargained for.
